EKU Danville Cultural Club Travels to Wright-Patterson Museum and World A-Fair Cultural Festival
The EKU Danville Cultural Club recently traveled to Dayton, Ohio for a weekend trip to Wright-Patterson Museum and the World A-Fair Cultural Festival.
The group left Danville on May 15th and had lunch at the historic town of Clifton Mill, Ohio. Like stepping out of a time machine back into the 1800’s the town featured a working gristmill, blacksmith shop, 1920’s style gas station, and general store. After a meal of buffalo burgers and homemade cobbler, the group took a nature walk through scenic Clifton Gorge. The group also saw a performance of Grease by the Dayton Playhouse in the evening. On Saturday, club members visited Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum during their Space Week event and met retired NASA astronaut Fred Gregory, viewed the Apollo 15 capsule and shuttle training module, and toured the WWII, Vietnam, Cold War, and History of Flight hangars. After leaving Wright-Patterson, the group attended the World A-Fair Cultural Festival at the Dayton Convention Center where they experienced food, music, dance, and costumes of countries from around the world.
