Henry Payne Awarded Employee of the Month by the Commissioner of the KDE

Henry Payne, an ITV Facilitator at EKU Danville has been named Employee of the Month by the Commissioner of the   Kentucky Department of Education--Dr.  Stephen Pruitt. Payne has been a part-time employee at the EKU Danville Campus since 2001 and has assisted hundreds of EKU students taking Interactive TV classes at the site.

Henry’s full-time job as Transportation Director at Danville’s Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) has lead him to become proficient at American Sign Language, which is a great help to many KSD and EKU students who have profound hearing loss.

Many of the faculty at KSD and at EKU responded to the announcement by citing Henry’s dedication to his work and to the students he serves. Some of their comments include:

  • “No one is more deserving of this award!”
  • “He is all about the students.”
  • He is “so dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes no matter what, no attitude, just always willing!” and
  • “A man of integrity.”

We congratulate Henry on this recognition of his excellent service to students at both the KSD and EKU Danville Campuses.
